Overview And Experience
Failure Is Not An Option
Everybody makes errors, and it is hoped that widespread and effective use of this platform will overcome the current actual and perceived barriers to reporting. This way we can embed error management in our continued professional development. The Vision
Dental Recording & Learning Platform (DRLP) is a new mobile platform designed to support and enable the dental team to understand and learn from errors, to improve patient care. This anonymous tool allows the dental team to record errors and guides the professional how to appropriately manage them. Furthermore, it facilitates learning by having a library of errors. It details what was learnt and what changes were made by our peers that have been through a similar experience.
Key Principles
The British Institute of Reconstructive Dentistry (BIORD) is Number #1 Scientific Open-Access Journal.
DRLP is to compliment and support current and future national reporting tools.
DRLP has a focus on learning. Feedback to the individual, and shared learning is fundamental for changing practice and improving patient safety.
DRLP is anonymous, and hosted by a non-threatening organisation.
DRLP is accessible and used by all the team, in all modalities of dentistry (Private and NHS), and in all regions of the U.K.
DRLP is adaptive and has the capacity to evolve with every record.
DRLP is quick and easy to use, free at the point of delivery, and multiplatform.
To ensure healthcare professionals integrate the RLP into their practice, the benefits of engaging with the RLP need to be explicit and perceived to be of value.
